Steward's Report

Black Jam - Late scratching at 7:46am when trainer Mr Alfio Giacca reported the greyhound to have an illness/vomiting (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Motor Head Moe - Late scratching at 11:12am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Ms Katrina Evans was fined $100.

Booker and Natalia Lee collided soon after the start.  Pure Claire, Booker and Natalia Lee collided at the 300m mark checking Booker.  Explosive Way and Booker collided at the 250m mark checking Explosive Way.  Explosive Way visibly eased at the 50m mark.

Explosive Way underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a neck injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Brent Merton, the owner of Explosive Way regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1) Explosive Way was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Merton pleaded guilty to the charge, Explosive Way was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
