Steward's Report
Into The River and Moira Rose were slow to begin.
Iron Lad checked off Mt. View Ivy at the 250m mark checking Flying Mercedes. Flying Mercedes and Iron Lad collided several times from the 250m mark to the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Iron Lad crossed in checking Flying Mercedes approaching the 100m mark. Mt. View Ivy visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Mcmillan regarding the racing manners of Into The River approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Mcmillan, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
Mt. View Ivy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Trevor Whitford regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Mt. View Ivy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Mt. View Ivy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
