Clay Feet and Vaughn were slow to begin.
Hurricane Star checked off Clay Feet on the first turn. Rush Riccarton and Aussie Onyx collided on the first turn severely checking Aussie Onyx causing Aussie Onyx to fall as a result, intern severely checking Clay Feet, Vaughn and Aussie Onyx. Hurricane Star collided with Aussie Onyx which fell as a result on the first turn.
Hurricane Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain and left calf muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Aussie Onyx underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a pelvic injury and a right carpal sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
