Courtney Lee was slow to begin and crossed to the outside soon after the start.

Billy's Missile and Lektra Swing collided soon after the start. Boes Reward, Bluestone Sophie and Tin Can Sam collided at the 200m mark causing Boes Reward, Lektra Swing and Billy's Missile to collide, checking Billy's Missile and Lektra Swing. Raquea's Dream was slow to begin.

Raquea's Dream crossed to the outside at the 250m mark and collided with Rose Mikado, checking Zipping Sheila.

Kamikaze Cowgirl and Pineapple Turtle collided soon after the start. Mt. View Ginger and Jet Burner collided at the 250m mark. Mt. View Ginger, Jet Burner and Pineapple Turtle collided at the 150m mark checking Mt. View Ginger and Jet Burner. Black Martini checked off Dottrel approaching the winning post.
