A pre-race sample was taken from Lektra Swing.
Jump The Bar and Aston Verve collided soon after the start. Jump The Bar, Aston Verve and Quicker Than Joe collided on the first turn. Zoe's Intention and Quicker Than Joe collided approaching the home turn checking Zoe's Intention. Quicker Than Joe and Aston Verve collided entering the home straight. Aston Verve turned its head outwards and collided with Jump The Bar in the home straight checking Jump The Bar.
Aston Verve underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Jye Formosa, the representative of Aston Verve regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Aston Verve was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Verve was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
