All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 13.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Resurrection and Hojilla Bale collided approaching the first turn. Real Reward and Ramornie collided approaching the first turn. Resurrection checked off Hojilla Bale approaching the first turn causing Resurrection and Sugar Spice to collide, Sugar Spice contacted the running rail as a result. Aston Anita and Real Reward collided on the first turn. Real Reward and Daph's Wally collided approaching the home turn. Aston Anita, Hojilla Bale and Real Reward collided entering the home straight.

Sugar Spice underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

No Marjen– Late scratching at 7.19am when trainer Mrs M Tabb reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Golden Avatar was quick to begin. Aston Marla was slow to begin.

Golden Avatar and Beach Master collided approaching the first turn checking Golden Avatar. Banjo Bert checked off Phase on the first turn. Pepe Power, Gypsy Cinnamon and Aston Marla collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.

Frothy's De Goey– Late scratching at 10.01pm when Mr J Campbell reported the greyhound to have kennel cough (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Pyrenees Alpha, Slingshot Tiller and Century Rocks were quick to begin. Statler and Mini Charlotte were slow to begin.

Uncharged checked off Jagger Bale on the first turn. Statler checked off Pyrenees Alpha on the first turn. Mini Charlotte faltered approaching the home turn and pulled up as a result. Slingshot Tiller and Uncharged collided approaching the winning post.

Mini Charlotte underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

White Flower was quick to begin.

Nicko In Paris and Princess Lace collided approaching the first turn. Saffron Gold checked off Nicko In Paris approaching the first turn. Joffa's Shadow and Princess Lace collided approaching the home turn checking Joffa's Shadow. Princess Lace crossed to the rail in the home straight checking Joffa's Shadow.

Stan's Hope, Mallee Swan, Apache Chaz and Adesanya collided soon after the start checking all four greyhounds. Toyed and Hazardous Rumour collided approaching the first turn. Stan's Hope and Apache Chaz collided approaching the first turn checking Stan's Hope, causing Stan's Hope and Mallee Swan to collide. Adesanya checked off Miss City Girl approaching the home turn. Toyed raced wide in the home straight.

Mania crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Barnstar and Riverdale Tuohy. Riverdale Tuohy and Darklight collided approaching the first turn. Aston Malmo and Golden Teddy collided approaching the first turn. Barnstar and Darklight collided on the first turn checking Darklight, severely checking Barnstar and Riverdale Tuohy. Riverdale Tuohy and Aston Gabrielle collided approaching the home turn. 

Barnstar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left foreleg and thumps. No stand down period was imposed.
