All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

Supercomputer and Nero Valentino collided soon after the start. Nero Valentino checked off Shrek's Ninja soon after the start. Nero Valentino and Ask For More collided soon after the start. Supercomputer and Ask For More collided approaching the first turn and collided with Blazin' Zen, Dundee Topaz and Nero Valentino; Blazin' Zen and Dundee Topaz raced wide as a result. Nero Valentino visibly eased entering the back straight. Blazin' Zen and Dundee Topaz collided entering the back straight. Nero Valentino visibly eased on the third turn and collided with Supercomputer and Dundee Topaz. Ask For More checked off Shrek's Ninja in the home straight.
Nero Valentino underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. A re-examination was declined.
Stewards spoke to Mr James, the trainer of Nero Valentino regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the back straight and again on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Nero Valentino was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr James pleaded guilty to the charge, Nero Valentino was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne track only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
