Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Parade Steward, Ms. S. Evans did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Gem Victorem and Holding Hope collided on the first turn. Three Kisses and Kraken Rita collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Holding Hope checked off Kraken Rita entering the home straight checking Kraken Rita. Kraken Rita marred Three Kisses in the home straight. Holding Hope checked off Kraken Rita in the home straight.
Kraken Rita underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the chin and left hind paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Wark, the trainer of Kraken Rita regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Kraken Rita was charged with marring. Mr. Wark pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Rita was found guilty and suspended for 28 at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Rising Rage - winner of the event.
