Mt. View Ginger was quick to begin. Captain Turbot was slow to begin.
Jet Burner crossed to the rail approaching the first turn and checked off Hurricane Star. Elswyk Sophie, Hubcap Thief and Hurricane Star collided approaching the first turn checking Hubcap Thief. Captain Turbot checked off Jet Burner on the first turn. Hubcap Thief checked off Hurricane Star entering the home straight. Captain Turbot and Jet Burner collided in the home straight. Mt View Ginger and Galiena Bale collided in the home straight.
Hubcap Thief underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Jet Burner underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right toe injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Lindsay Fulford regarding the racing manners of Captain Turbot approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Fulford, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
