Steward's Report
Kinloch Bloke was slow to begin. Scary News was very slow to begin - 5 lengths.
Fairytale Nacho and Rocky Strike collided soon after the start. Safe Drop and Need To Shine collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark. Scary News lost ground from the 250m mark and tailed off. Kinloch Bloke turned its head inwards and visibly eased at the 100m and again at the 50m mark.
Kinloch Bloke underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Kinloch Bloke was found to have injuries to the right quadriceps and left hindleg toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Kenneth Kubik, Trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Kinloch Bloke was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kubik pleaded guilty to the charge, Kinlock Bloke was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Scary News underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right carpal sprains and a left shoulder injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Lewis Green, the Trainer of Scary News regarding its performance at the 250m mark. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Scary News must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Jonas - the winner of the event.
