In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.90 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Yolanda with Mr Anthony Lamarca and noted his comments.

Pepperberry went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Kamikaze Magic was slow to begin.

Midnight Pompeii and Pineapple Turtle collided soon after the start checking Pineapple Turtle. Pepperberry and Twilight Psycho collided at the 250m mark. Yolanda and Pepperberry collided at the 150m mark.

Mr Rodney Newell failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Kamikaze Magic for racing. Stewards took into consideration that Mr Newell held registraton with NSW and a warning was issued pursuant to GAR 46 (2).

Kinloch Bloke was slow to begin. Scary News was very slow to begin - 5 lengths.

Fairytale Nacho and Rocky Strike collided soon after the start. Safe Drop and Need To Shine collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark. Scary News lost ground from the 250m mark and tailed off. Kinloch Bloke turned its head inwards and visibly eased at the 100m and again at the 50m mark.

Kinloch Bloke underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Kinloch Bloke was found to have injuries to the right quadriceps and left hindleg toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Kenneth Kubik, Trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Kinloch Bloke was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kubik pleaded guilty to the charge, Kinlock Bloke was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Scary News underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right carpal sprains and a left shoulder injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Lewis Green, the Trainer of Scary News regarding its performance at the 250m mark. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Scary News must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Jonas - the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Knight Zipper.

Knight Zipper and Rim Of Fire were slow to begin.

Double Up and Hook In Quinn collided at the 200m mark. Mess crossed to the inside at the 150m mark. Rim Of Fire and No Jewels collided at the 100m mark.

Why Not Colby and Huey's Dream collided at the 250m mark. She's My Blast and Nowhere Nath collided at the 150m mark. She's My Blast crossed to the outside at the 100m mark checking Ship Of Fools.

A post-race sample was taken from Almapa Berisha - the winner of the event.

Fast Lane, Superior Wallis and Superior Digby collided soon after the start. Tolerant, Superior Wallis and Superior Digby collided approaching the 200m mark. Always Ho Ho, Tolerant and Superior Wallis collided approaching the winning post checking Tolerant. Superior Digby Always Ho Ho and Superior Wallis collided approaching the winning post.

Prior to this event the outside temperature was 33.2 degrees.

Gosh, Perfect Crippa and Fireball Frank were slow to begin.

Ripplebrook Glen and Always Primed collided at the 275m mark. Fireball Frank and Ripplebrook Glen collided at the 250m mark. Elite Paws lost ground from the 200m mark. 

Elite Paws underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to habe a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Kraken Smick and Okawa Eye Candy collided at the 300m mark. Why Not Pockets and Quick Transition collided at the 150m mark.

Amlin Crystal and Mt. View Audrey collided at the 300m mark and again at the 250m mark. Mt. View Audrey checked off Amlin Crystal at the 150m mark.

Royal Gossip and Rumour Is Fact collided soon after the start. Rumour Is Fact, Amlin Frozen and Andy Time collided at the 200m mark severely checking Amlin Frozen and Andy Time. Uncharged and Andy Time at the 100m mark to the winning post.

Jump The Bar, Little Nellie and Twilight Flame collided soon after the start. Fernando Bull and Take A Sunflower collided at the 200m mark. Call Me Tanya, Jump The Bar and Little Nellie collided at the 200m mark. Jump The Bar and Little Nellie collided at the 150m mark. Twilight Flame marred Spend A Dime approaching the 100m mark.

Twilight Flame underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right pectoral muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Theo Van Taarling, the representative of Twilight Flame regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Twilight Flame was charged with marring. Mr Van Taarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Twilight Flame was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Our Girl Daisy, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
