Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Villanelle checked off Quinn Bale soon after the start. Pycnantha checked off Slingshot Melody approaching the first turn checking Pycnantha and Villanelle. Cooped Up went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Cute Indeed was quick to begin.

Ginger Meggs checked off Mindful Reality soon after the start checking Ginger Meggs and Fascinate Candy. Zumi's Swagger and Cooped Up collided approaching the first turn. On The Duck checked off Mindful Reality approaching the first turn severely checking On The Duck which lost ground as a result. Ginger Meggs and Mindful Reality collided approaching the home turn. Fascinate Candy and Ginger Meggs collided on the home turn checking Mindful Reality. Ginger Meggs and Fascinate Candy collided in the home straight.

On The Duck underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Also Arandt and Meat Murphy were slow to begin.

Also Arandt brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Ovens Angler, Who Is Arandt, Cuteness, Max Black and Meat Murphy collided on the first turn causing Meat Murphy to fall, and Also Arandt and Max Black to race wide. Who Is Arandt and Cuteness collided approaching the second turn.

Meat Murphy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to the Run Back Gate Attendant regarding his failure to close the run back gate for this event.

Lightning Blast and Sudden Force were slow to begin.

Swift Timing, Incognito and Sisco Ride collided soon after the start. Side Splitting, Matilda Mikado, Incognito and Lightning Blast collided approaching the first turn forcing Lightning Blast to race wide. Lightning Blast checked off Matilda Mikado on the first turn. Side Splitting checked off Lady Bang Bang on the second turn. Matilda Mikado and Lightning Blast collided on the second turn checking Matilda Mikado. Lightning Blast checked off Incognito on the home turn.

Jacky's Eden - Late scratching at 1:19pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a papilloma on the left hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

This event was delayed by 1.5 minutes due to operational matters.
