Steward's Report
Pete Cabang – Late scratching at 10.20 am when Mr. A. Mooney reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Lea Arandt went up with the lids at box rise. Our Girl Bailee and Belena Blaze were quick to begin. Who Is Arandt was slow to begin.
Aerolithology and Mahogany Queen collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Aerolithology. Belena Blaze checked off What's The Code on the home turn. What's The Code turned its head inwards towards Our Girl Bailee and visibly eased approaching the winning post.
What's The Code underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 11. Whats The Code was found to have a spike wound to the left metatarsals. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Steve Daniliuk regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Whats The Code was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Daniliuk pleaded guilty to the charge, What's The Code must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Our Girl Bailee - the winner of the event.
