Knuckle Buster was slow to begin. Hard Cash and Class Action collided soon after the start. Market Charlie and Hard Cash collided approaching the first turn checking Market Charlie. Zanzibar Icon and Maddox Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Market Charlie. Zanzibar Icon and Maddox Bale collided on the first turn. Hard Cash, Market Charlie and Zanzibar Icon collided approaching the home turn. Husky Freckle and Argyle Luna collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Hard Cash checked off Market Charlie approaching the home turn. Maddox Bale and Hard Cash collided on the home turn. Husky Freckle and Zanzibar Icon collided entering the home straight. Market Charlie checked off Husky Freckle entering the home straight. Argyle Luna visibly eased in the home straight and subsequently pulled up checking Hard Cash.
Argyle Luna underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Raymond Morgan, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Argyle Luna was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Morgan pleaded guilty to the charge, Argyle Luna must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
