Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5 m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Electric Zulu, Starfleet and Pay May Joy were slow to begin.  Chirnside Sparky galloped on the heels of Mystic Journey approaching the first turn.  Mystic Journey, Oriental Amber and Chirnside Sparky collided approaching the first turn.  Chirnside Sparky and Mystic Journey collided on the first turn, checking Mystic Journey.  Mystic Journey marred Chirnside Sparky in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Mystic Journey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg triangle injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms D Robertson, the trainer of Mystic Journey, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mystic Journey was charged with marring.  Ms Robertson pleaded guilty to the charge, Mystic Journey is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Shift Change - Late scratching at 5:43 pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an elevated temperature.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Shared Colour, Beach Master and Blackpool Storm collided soon after the start, checking Beach Master.  Crumb Snags, John John Dory and Blackpool Storm collided approaching the first turn.  Joffa's Impala and Crumb Snags collided on the first turn.  Blackpool Storm and John John Dory collided approaching the home turn; severely checking Blackpool Storm, which stumbled and causing John John Dory to fall.

John John Dory underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Blackpool Flash and Tango Icon were quick to begin.  Bush Tiger and Yeah Easy collided approaching the first turn.  Tango Icon and Blackpool Bolt collided approaching the first turn.  Yeah Easy and Bush Tiger collided on the first turn, checking Bush Tiger.  Tango Icon and Blackpool Bolt collided approaching the home turn; checking Tango Icon, which contacted the running rail.  Blackpool Flash and Perfect Colour collided on the home turn.  Choir Magic raced wide in the home straight.

Tango Icon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left pad.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Marion Vest Only underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg split webbing injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr M Wright, trainer of Mario Vest Only, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  After viewing all available footage, hearing Mr Wrights' submissions and Stewards own observations, no further action was taken.

Red Rochelle - Late scratching at 6:06 pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Big Brebler underwent a post-race veterinary examination following an incident in the catching pen and was found to have a right hindleg hock injury.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Cawbourne Cheeky underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Cawbourne Cheeky - Turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the race.  Placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 52(1).
