The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes due to an issue with the compressor at the starting boxes.
Lawson Drive was quick to begin.
Brindle Fire and Upright collided soon after the start. Dim Sim, Our Girl Bailee, Lawson Drive and Cracked Soda collided on the first turn, checking Our Girl Bailee and Lawson Drive. Brindle Fire, Upright and Our Rock Man collided on the first turn, checking Upright. Lawson Drive faltered in the back straight. Our Rock Man, Our Girl Bailee and Dim Sim collided on the second turn, checking Dim Sim. Brindle Fire and Una Star collided on the second turn.
Lawson Drive underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
