Steward's Report
Oamaru Bale, Roxy Ouzo and Jullisa Bale collided on the first turn checking Roxy Ouzo, Smokey Renn, Jullisa Bale, General Collinda and Madam Rosmerta. Tribal faltered in the back straight and took no further competitive part in the event. Smokey Renn visibly eased approaching the home turn and collided with Tribal. Smokey Renn visibly eased on the home turn.
Smokey Renn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triangle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative, Mrs. L. Delbridge regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1),Smokey Renn was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Smokey Renn was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Mrs Delbridge advised that it would be the intention of the kennel to retire the greyhound following today's event.
Tribal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right wrist, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
