Big Gordy was slow to begin.
Invictus Ethan and Daph's Ascend collided approaching the first turn, checking Daph's Ascend. Ballara Bullet and Done Time collided on the first turn, severely checking Crackerjack Phil, Ballara Bullet, Done Time and Big Gordy. Crackerjack Phil fell as a result. Daph's Ascend checked off Invictus Ethan approaching the home turn. Roxy Tequila checked off Daph's Ascend on the home turn. Invictus Ethan and Daph's Ascend collided in the home straight.
Crackerjack Phil underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a thigh injury, right hind leg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
