Steward's Report

Ripplebrook Rory began awkwardly and lost ground (3 lengths).  Fenway Lights was slow to begin.

Berdeen and Double 'Em Up collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Ripplebrook Rory checked off Berdeen approaching the second turn.  Shy But Savage checked off Black Robin on the second turn.  Dr. Xander checked off Shy But Savage entering the back straight.  Berdeen and Double 'Em Up collided entering the back straight.  Ripplebrook Rory and Double 'Em Up collided on the third turn.  Dr. Xander marred Shy But Savage approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Fenway Lights and Black Robin collided approaching the winning post. 

Stewards spoke to trainer Mrs Jeanette Imlach regarding the racing manners of Fenway Lights approaching the winning post.  After hearing evidence from Mrs Imlach, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.

Dr. Xander underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have nail bed bleeding to the front left and right hind left feet and bruising to the left hind foot.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Ms Jennifer Gill regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Dr. Xander was charged with marring.  Ms. Gill pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dr. Xander was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
