Steward's Report
Not Arandt was slow to begin.
Fernando Mick and Shim Bob collided soon after the start. Alpine Blaze and Fernando Mick collided approaching the first turn. Bush Martini and Shim Bob collided on the first turn. Suntory Rose checked off Suntory Lass on the first turn. Fabriola Acai and Suntory Rose collided on the second turn checking Shim Bob and Alpine Blaze. Not Arandt checked off Fabriola Acai in the back straight. Not Arandt and Alpine Blaze collided on the third turn. Suntory Rose checked off Suntory Lass entering the home straight. Alpine Blaze marred Not Arandt in the home straight.
Not Arandt underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request - no apparent injury was reported.
Alpine Blaze underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Andrew Xerri regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Alpine Blaze was charged with marring. Mr A Xerri pleaded guilty to the charge, Alpine Blaze was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Fernando Mick - winner of the event.
