Steward's Report

A sample was taken from Palesa Bale upon arrival at the course.

Harrison House was slow to begin.  Sherwood Bale and Aston Falcon collided soon after the start.  Dr. Macie and Dr. Lexie collided approaching the first turn checking Harrison House.  Harrison House and Dr. Macie collided on the first turn.  Dr. Lexie and Zipping Rafferty collided on the first turn.  Sherwood Bale checked off Dr. Macie approaching the second turn.  Harrison House, Dr. Lexie, Zikpping Rafferty, Dr. Macie and Sherwood Bale collided on the second turn checking Dr. Macie and Sherwood Bale causing Sherwood Bale to lose ground.  Palesa Bale and Aston Falcon collided on the third turn.  Aston Falcon veered out and marred Palesa Bale approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Dr. Lexie turned its head outwards and eased on the home turn.

Aston Falcon was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Representative, Mr D. Chapman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.   Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1)  Aston Falcon was charged with marring.  Mr Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Falcon was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dr. Lexie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right calf injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Representative, Ms. J. Gill regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Dr. Lexie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms. Gill pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dr. Lexie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted
