Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face-masks, observed social distance requirements and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Smokey Cape was slow to begin.
Write About Her and Zipping Rafferty collided approaching the first turn. Gypsy Wyong, Jet Legger, Soda Saville and Steamer Redeemer collided on the first turn. Smokey Cape contacted the running rail on the first turn. Jet Legger, Soda Saville and Steamer Redeemer collided on the second turn. Soda Saville faltered on the third turn. Write About Her crossed out on the third turn, eased, and collided with Soda Saville from the third turn to the winning post with both greyhounds tailing off. Jet Legger and Zipping Rafferty collided entering the home straight.
Amended 6 June 2021 - Write About Her underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shoulder and right calf injuries, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Kyle Brooks regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1), Write About Her was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Brooks pleaded guilty to the charge, Write About Her was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Smokey Cape underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Soda Saville underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shoulder and right hamstring injuries. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Gypsy Wyong - winner of the event.
