Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Hurricane Gypsy.
Captain Turbot, About Bob and Knocka Out were slow to begin. Rajah was checked off Blue Cascade soon after the start severely checking Rajah. Blue Cascade and Hurricane Gypsy collided on the first turn severely checking Blue Cascade And Captain Turbot. Captain Turbot galloped on Blue Cascade on the first turn. Hurricane Gypsy visibly eased, turned its head out and collided with Get Around Her approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds, checking About Bob and causing About Bob to race wide on the home turn.
Get Around Her underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right chest muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Hurricane Gypsy underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right deltoid muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Sultana, the representative for Hurricane Gypsy regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Hurricane Gypsy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Sultana pleaded not guilty to the charge, Hurricane Gypsy was found guilty and suspended for 12 months all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
