All Staff & Participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting & catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 24.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles.  Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

A pre-race sample was taken from Whakahoro.

Shining Gem, Dundee Ember and Agent Swan were quick to begin.  Time Turner was slow to begin.

Shining Gem, Agent Swan and Dundee Ember collided approaching the first turn.  Aston Vogue, Flying Silk and Heart Of Gold collided approaching the first turn.  Shining Gem, Agent Swan and Whakahoro collided on the first turn checking Whakahoro, Agent Swan and Time Turner; Agent Swan and Time Turner raced wide as a result.  Flying Silk and Heart Of Gold collided approaching the second turn and again entering the back straight.  Shining Gem and Flying Silk collided approaching the third turn.  Whakahoro and Dundee Ember collided approaching the third turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bush Martini.

Spirit Energy, Shall She Charm and Rebecca Gay were quick to begin.  Whispy Watson was slow to begin.

Spirit Energy and Shall She Charm collided on the first turn.  Invincible Night and Whispy Watson collided on the second turn causing Whispy Watson to race wide.  Spirit Energy and Shall She Charm collided in the back straight.  Spirit Energy, Shall She Charm and Rebecca Gay collided approaching the fourth turn.  Spirit Energy checked off Rebecca Gay on the fourth turn severely checking Spirit Energy, Rebecca Gay and Bush Martini; Bush Martini fell as a result checking Invincible Night and Whispy Watson.  

Bush Martini underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

In accordance with LR 22 Mr Charlie Pirotta was issued with a warning regarding the non-compliance with the GRV Dress Code.

A pre-race sample was taken from Billy's The Boss.

Happy Hannah and Aston Rabanne collided soon after the start.  Rockin' Rosie and Midget Rocks collided soon after the start.  Aston Rabanne crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Rockin' Rosie, Midget Rocks and Happy Hannah.  Rockin' Rosie checked off Billy's The Boss on the first turn.  Way To Important, Billy's The Boss and Aston Rabanne collided on the first turn.  Billy's The Boss and Aston Rabanne collided approaching the second turn checking Aston Rabanne and Midget Rocks.  Rockin' Rosie and Billy's The Boss collided on the second turn.  Happy Hannah checked off Midget Rocks in the back straight.  Billy's The Boss and Aston Rabanne collided approaching the third turn checking Aston Rabanne.

A pre-race sample was taken from Little Yaala.

Little Yaala and Aston Bullet were quick to begin.  Skibo Rebel was slow to begin.

Suntory Lass stumbled at box rise.  Westar Carrie and Suntory Lass collided approaching the first turn checking Westar Carrie.  Little Yaala and Aston Ajok collided on the first turn.  Aston Bullet and Aston Glow collided approaching the second turn.  Little Yaala and Suntory Lass collided entering the back straight checking Little Yaala.  Skibo Rebel, Little Yaala and Aston Ajok collided approaching the third turn checking Little Yaala and Aston Ajok.

A pre-race sample was taken from Room To Boom.

Pure Quality, Gav's The Boss and Room To Boom collided soon after the start checking all three greyhounds.  Gav's The Boss fell soon after the start.  Pure Quality and Room To Boom collided approaching the first turn checking Room To Boom.  Trance checked off Carry On Angel on the first turn.  

Gav's The Boss underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a suspected spinal cord and thoracic lumbar injury.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track in the front straight and were satisfied it was suitable for racing.

Stewards conducted a check of the catcher’s licences in accordance with LRR 16.2 and all were compliant.

Fernando Bluey was quick to begin.  Kurri Kurri was slow to begin.

Utah Express and Keenando collided on the home turn.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Tinker Craig.

Jayville Tuxedo and Lenny's Jagger were slow to begin.

Tinker Craig and Pop Rock collided soon after the start.  Capra, Tinker Craig, Cornhill Rebel and Lenny's Jagger collided approaching the first turn.  Pop Rock checked off Capra approaching the first turn.  Pop Rock, Lenny's Jagger, Capra, Cornhill Rebel and Jayville Tuxedo collided on the first turn checking Cornhill Rebel and Jayville Tuxedo; severely checking Capra which lost ground and tailed off.  Pop Rock and Lenny's Jagger collided approaching the second turn.  Lenny's Jagger and Jayville Tuxedo collided entering the home straight.  

Capra underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Trainer Mr Mathew Tabb was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR48 for failingto engage a catcher for the greyhound Tinker Craig in this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Fernando Cazz.

Fernando Cazz and Pleach were quick to begin.

Disco Riot checked off Not Happening soon after the start.  Son Of Indy and He Shall Enchant collided soon after the start.  He Shall Enchant and Charango collided approaching the third turn.  Son Of Indy checked off Not Happening entering the back straight checking Son Of Indy.  Disco Riot checked off He Shall Enchant approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Always Ho Ho.

Always Ho Ho was quick to begin.

Perfect Colour stumbled at box rise.  Perfect Colour and Coughlin's Law collided soon after the start.  Perfect Colour checked off Konta approaching the first turn.  Konta checked off Perfect Colour entering the back straight.  

Stewards spoke to Mr Steven White, the trainer of Always Ho Ho regarding its improved performance in this event.  Mr White stated the greyhound recently joined his kennel and he has vastly improved the greyhound's fitness and has treated several underlying injuries. Mr White's comments were noted. The GRIU Betting analyst will review all transactions on this event. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Rebel May Road.

Halwes, Stretch Butler and Go Twenty Two were quick to begin.  Parzival and Rebel May Road were slow to begin.

Parzival, Digitorum and Prince Cody collided on the first turn; causing Digitorum and Prince Cody to race wide.  Rebel May Road checked off Parzival on the first turn checking Rebel May Road which lost ground.  Halwes and Stretch Butler collided entering the front straight.  Parzival and Digitorum collided on the second turn.  Go Twenty Two checked off Halwes approaching the home turn.  

Rebel May Road underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
