A pre race sample was taken from Coach Klein.
Yellow Brick was quick to begin.
Mick's Kimmy checked off Black Hawk Jet soon after the start and lost ground as a result. Black Hawk Jet checked off Happy Lass approaching the first turn. Aston Orazio, Yellow Brick, Happy Lass, Black Hawk Jet and Westside Warrior collided on the first turn, severely checking Black Hawk Jet, Happy Lass and Westside Warrior: causing Westside warrior to race wide as a result. Coach Klein contacted the running rail on the first turn. Mick's Kimmy checked off Coach Klein approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.
Coach Klein underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fore monkey muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
