Steward's Report
Antarctic Lass – New declared weight of 29.3kg, last raced at 31kg.
Lady Gotham and Madame Pookie collided approaching the first turn checking Madame Pookie. Antarctic Lass brushed the running rail on the first turn. Lady Gotham turned its head to the inside and marred Flairin the home straight.
Lady Gotham underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury and spike wound to the left hind toe. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Boehmke, the trainer of Lady Gotham regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Lady Gotham was charged with marring. Mr Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Lady Gotham was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Flair - the winner of the event.
