Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
This race was delayed by one and half minutes to allow staff to clear wildlife from the track.
Jeziah Bale, Rahim Bale and Vardan Bale were slow to begin.
Jeziah Bale and Rahim Bale collided soon after the start. Steven checked off Balbina Bale soon after the start. Jeziah Bale checked off Rahim Bale approaching the first turn. Rahim Bale and Steven collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Steven which fell. Jeziah Bale and Quincee Bale raced wide on the home turn. Jeziah Bale and Quincee Bale collided entering the home straight. Jeziah Bale checked off Quincee Bale in the home straight.
Steven underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg injury. Steven was humanely euthanized.
Following Race 1, Stewards inspected the track between the first turn and the home turn and were not satisfied that the surface was suitable for racing. After consultation with Club staff Races 2-12 were subsequently abandoned at 7.34pm.
