Steward's Report
What Price Bucks - Late scratching at 5.37pm under GAR 37 (4) on the of the On-Track Veterinarian after the greyhound was found to be infested with fleas. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance stating the condition no longer exsists before any further nomination will be accepted.
Star Magic was slow to begin. Busy Izzy and Beautiful Freak collided approaching the first turn checking Busy Izzy. Beautiful Freak and Rumour File collided on the first turn. Beautiful Freak galloped on El Fernanda approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. Ironclad turned its head out on the home turn and collided with Beautiful Freak and El Fernanda checking Beautiful Freak and El Fernanda, severely checking Ironclad. Beautiful Freak and Ironclad collided in the home straight.
Ironclad underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right hamstring. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. B. Mackie regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Ironclad was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Mackie pleaded guilty to the charge, Ironclad was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 68B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted
