Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Mussa Jack.
Polite Reply and Big Coin Buddy were quick to begin. Big Coin Buddy galloped on Unwind approaching the first turn. Unwind visibly eased on the first turn.
Unwind underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. R. Boyce declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Boyce, the trainer of Unwind regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Unwind was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Boyce pleaded guilty to the charge, Unwind was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
