Aston Pride and Fernando Bella were slow to begin.
Blue Chandelier, Emerald Galore, Starlight Blaze and Dash Home collided on the first turn; checking Blue Chandelier, Emerald Galore and Villanova. Starlight Blaze and Fernando Bella collided several times on the home turn.
Villanova underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a laceration to the right hindleg toe. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
