Gotcha Laz and Hello Keen were quick to begin. Aston Gabrielle and Knockout Fantasy were slow to begin.
Tiggerlong Al, Okay Sam and Rivia Bale collided soon after the start. Gotcha Laz and Quintana Bale collided on the first turn. Tiggerlong Al checked off Okay Sam on the first turn, causing Tiggerlong Al and Aston Gabrielle to collide. Okay Sam, Rivia Bale and Gotcha Laz collided approaching the home turn, causing Rivia Bale to fall and checking Gotcha Laz and Aston Gabrielle.
A post-race sample was taken from Quintana Bale - the winner of the event.
Rivia Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a monkey muscle injury, right foreleg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
