Steward's Report
Gout Ralph and Banjo Bobby collided soon after the start. Bindi Girl and Ray's Boy collided approaching the 200m mark checking both greyhounds. Ray's Boy turned its head inwards at the 150m mark and collided with Bindi Girl checking Tinker China, Ray's Boy, Bindi Girl and Barunga Bullet. Barunga Bullet crossed out approaching the 100m mark checking Tinker China and Bindi Girl.
Stewards spoke to Mr Brent Merton regarding the racing manners of Barunga Bullet approaching the 100m mark. After hearing evidence from Mr Merton, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 100m mark.
Ray's Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary McMillan, the trainer of Ray's Boy regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 150m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Ray's Boy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr McMillan pleaded guilty to the charge, Ray's Boy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
