Black Spinel was slow to begin.
Magic Marjen went up with the lids at box rise, was slow to begin and collided with Among The Clouds soon after the start. Gunai Rebel crossed to the outside soon after the start. Magic Marjen and Among The Clouds collided at the 300m mark. Fawn Missile, Magic Marjen and Among The Clouds collided at the 250m mark checking Magic Marjen. Ramornie checked off Gunai Rebel at the 200m mark. Among The Clouds checked off Fawn Missile at the 150m mark. Among The Clouds turned its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the 50m mark checking Fawn Missile.
Magic Marjen underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Among The Clouds underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Ms Angela Galea regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Among The Clouds was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Galea pleaded not guilty to the charge, Among The Clouds was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
