The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Major Sacrifice was quick to begin.

Invictus Jaxson and Zeeba's Legacy collided soon after the start.  She's So Kind, Plan Ahead and Invictus Jaxson collided approaching the first turn checking Plan Ahead.  She's So Kind, Invictus Jaxson, Zeeba's Legacy and Wedding Or Baby collided on the first turn checking Wedding Or Baby, severely checking Invictus Jaxson and Zeeba's Legacy; causing Zeeba's Legacy to fall.  Western Country and Major Sacrifice collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn checking Major Sacrifice.  Major Sacrifice and Plan Ahead collided approaching the third turn checking Major Sacrifice.  Western Country and Westar Manson collided approaching the home turn checking Western Country and Major Sacrifice.  Western Country and Wedding Or Baby collided entering the home straight.

Zeeba's Legacy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left scapula injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Shima Jake and Invictus Ethan were slow to begin.

Post Office Girl and Shima Jake collided soon after the start checking Shima Jake and Invictus Ethan.  Golden Skyrocket and Coterie collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Golden Skyrocket, Coterie and Jazz Opera.  Invictus Ethan, Westar Bundy and Golden Skyrocket collided approaching the second turn severely checking Golden Skyrocket and Westar Bundy.  Invictus Ethan and Coterie collided on the second turn checking Coterie.  Coterie and Jazz Opera collided approaching the home turn checking Jazz Opera.  Invictus Ethan crossed out and marred Coterie on the home turn severely checking Jazz Opera, Golden Skyrocket, Coterie and Invictus Ethan; causing Coterie to falter and pull up, Jazz Opera to tail off, Golden Skyrocket and Invictus Ethan to fall.

Jazz Opera underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both wrists.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Golden Skyrocket underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind paw.  No stand down period was imposed.

Coterie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a groin injury and bruising to the left hind leg.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Invictus Ethan underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs Marlene Schmidt, the trainer of Invictus Ethan regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Invictus Ethan was charged with marring.  Mrs Schmidt pleaded guilty to the charge, Invictus Ethan was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Mepunga Reject the winner of the event.

Golden Ratio and Honey Double One were slow to begin.

Empire Lad, Golden Ratio and Born A Runner collided soon after the start.  Born A Runner and Crumlin collided approaching the first turn.  Golden Ratio and Cawbourne Gout collided on the first turn and again entering the front straight checking Golden Ratio.  Empire Lad and Cawbourne Gout collided approaching the third turn checking Empire Lad.  

Golden Ratio underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have injuries to both wrists, left shin soreness and right hip soreness.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Shall She Charm was quick to begin.  Bromley, Phantom call, Kalbarri and General Collinda were slow to begin.

Bromley, Phantom call, Kalbarri and General Collinda collided soon after the start checking Bromley, Phantom call, General Collinda and severely checking Kalbarri.  Bromley, Phantom call and General Collinda collided on the first turn checking General Collinda.  Weblec Storm and Dr. Madison collided approaching the third turn checking both greyhounds.

Lady Lagertha and Don't Argue Love were quick to begin.  Pyrenees Steele and Ripplebrook Glen were slow to begin.

Lady Lagertha underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a shoulder injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the home turn and the front straight and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT 23.11.20:

Stewards were advised by Mr Craig Treherne that his greyhound Don't Argue Love has undergone a veterinary examination with Dr Michael Bell, where it was reported that the greyhound had sustained a fractured hind toe. 

McCooly's Lad and Fernando Cazz were quick to begin.  

Broadway Benny and Get A Job collided soon after the start checking Get A Job.  Corazon De Leon and Hoffa collided on the first turn checking Hoffa and Fernando Cazz.  Fernando Cazz and Alarm Response collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Broadway Benny galloped on Corazon De Leon approaching the third turn checking Fernando Cazz.  Fernando Cazz and Broadway Benny collided several times in the home straight.

Equalizer was slow to begin.

Philadelphia Pip and Always Ho Ho collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Brickman checked off Konta approaching the second turn.  Konta checked off Equalizer on the second turn.  Show Of Force and Equalizer collided approaching the winning post.

Aston Antoine and Rockstar Ruby were slow to begin.
