Steward's Report
Leading Edge was slow to begin. Conquer Fear and Book Of Verse collided approaching the first turn. Angsana checked off Capullo Bale approaching the first turn, severely checking Conquer Fear which stumbled and tailed off. Capullo Bale, Superfonic, Triple Figure and Zipping Felix collided on the first turn, checking Superfonic and Leading Edge. Superfonic and Leading Edge collided several times on the home turn, checking Superfonic. Book Of Verse eased in the home straight and tailed off.
Angsana was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a severe sprained left wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Conquer Fear was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Judy Worsfold, the trainer of the greyhound Book Of Verse. Book Of Verse was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a grade 1 tear to the right triangle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Book Of Verse with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
