Delta Bolt, Untraceable and Cairnlea Peter were slow to begin. Cairnlea Peter crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Dodge The Bill and Why Not Heather. Delta Bolt, Why Not Heather, Untraceable and Elegant Elle collided on the first turn checking Untraceable and Elegant Elle, severely checking Why Not Heather and causing Untraceable and Elegant Elle to race wide. Berry Blitz and Cairnlea Peter collided approaching the second turn.
Why Not Heather was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triceps and the left sartorius muscles, a 7 day stand down was imposed.
