Cromis and Winston Groom were slow to begin. Uncle More and Joraine collided soon after the start. Winston Groom crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Cromis. Uncle More and Jorain collided approaching the first turn, checking Jorain and causing Cromis to clip the heels of Jorain, with Cromis failling as a result. Black As Night and In Canada collided on the first turn. Uncle More checked off In Canada on the second turn. Black As Night, In Canada and Winston Groom collided on the second turn, checking In Canada. Black As Night and Winston Groom collided on the third turn. Black As Night and In Canada collided approaching the home turn, checking Black As Night. Uncle More clipped the heels of Joraine entering the home straight.
