Luna Ash was slow to begin. Blonde Rockie checked off Molly Monroe soon after the start. Rose For You, Arengo and Chucka Bone collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn, checking Arengo. Kanga Colour and Our Ollie collided on the first turn, checking Our Ollie. Rose For You and Chucka Bone collided on the first turn, and again approaching the second turn checking Rose For You which became unbalanced as a result. Luna Ash and Blonde Rockie collided approaching the second turn, checking Luna Ash. Blonde Rockie and Arengo collided on the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Blonde Rockie and Rose For You collided in the back straight and again approaching the winning post.
Rose For You was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained grazes to the left and right hind legs. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr T Cortese handler of Blonde Rockie regarding the greyhounds performance. Mr Cortese stated that in his opinion the interference to his greyhound today contributed to the performance and that the greyhound may be better suited to tier 3 racing. Stewards noted the explanation and took no further action.
Stewards spoke to Mr T Vass trainer of Rose For You regarding the greyhounds performance. Mr Vass stated that although he was disappointed in the greyhounds performance, in his opinion the interference to his greyhound on the first turn and the grazes sustained contributed to the performance. Stewards noted the explanation and took no further action.
