Steward's Report
Doughnut - Late scratching at 12:31pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr M Davis was fined $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Always Innocent.
Jabril Bale and Just A Fidget collided soon after the start, checking Big Leigh and Saint Sunshine. Jabril Bale veered out, turned its head outwards and collided with Just A Fidget approaching the first turn, resulting in Just A Fidget and Nancy Baker colliding. Jabril Bale and Nancy Baker collided entering the home straight, checking Jabril Bale. Big Leigh and Nancy Baker collided in the home straight.
Jabril Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Ms A.Gurry declined to have the greyhound revetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms A Gurry, the trainer of Jabril Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Jabril Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Gurry pleaded guilty to the charge, Jabril Bale is suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
