Steward's Report
She's So Sassy and Zipping Kez were quick to begin.
Crackerjack Joey and Cawbourne Gout collided soon after the start, checking Cawbourne Gout. Aston Helena checked off Crackerjack Joey approaching the first turn. She's So Sassy checked off Zipping Kez approaching the home turn. Zipping Kez turned its head outwards on the home turn and collided several times with She's So Sassy. She's So Sassy and Tinker Cindy collided several times in the home straight; checking both greyhounds.
She's So Sassy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Zipping Kez underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left hindleg triangle and hip injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr P Smoor regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Zipping Kez was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Smoor pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Kez was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
