Steward's Report
Lainey Zapper was quick to begin. Pukka Pie Gravy and Pasta Fagioli were slow to begin. Neat Radar was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Fish Chips Peas and Lily Rose Jazz collided on the first turn. Fish Chips Peas and Beiderbecke collided on the first turn checking Fish Chips Peas. Shamrock Mist visibly eased approaching the home turn. Neat Radar checked off Shamrock Mist approaching the home turn. Fish Chips Peas visibly eased approaching the home turn.
Fish Chips Peas was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D. Basile, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Fish Chips Peas was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Basile pleaded guilty to the charge, Fish Chips Peas must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Shamrock Mist was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr R. Rowe, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Shamrock Mist was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Rowe pleaded not guilty to the charge, Shamrock Mist was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
