Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Mister Harlewood.

Little Queeny - Late scratching at 8:24 pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to dehydration.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Paradise Pippa and Black Canvas were slow to begin.

Inga Mia and Mister Harlewood collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Montaya and Kudos Bale collided on the first turn, checking Kudos Bale.  Inga Mia and Mister Harlewood collided several times on the second turn, checking Inga Mia.  Montaya turned its head inwards and collided with Mister Harlewood in the home straight, resulting in Mister Harlewood being turned outwards.  Montaya and Mister Harlewood then collided  again in the home straight, checking Mister Harlewood.

Montaya underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr P Franklin regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Montaya was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Franklin pleaded not guilty to the charge, Montaya was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
