Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Track curator, Mr R Hamilton advised that the track was lightly harrowed on Wednesday, 26 August 2020.

Bohemian Blue was quick to begin.  Crymelon Quick and Susie's Star were slow to begin.

Black Booker and Susie's Star collided soon after the start.  Black Booker checked off Miss Sedaka approaching the first turn.  Crymelon Quick galloped on the heels of Pyrenees Alpha on the first turn and collided with Nova's Girl; resulting in Crymelon Quick being severely checked, and causing Nova's Girl to fall.

Nova's Girl underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Morning Heather and La La Louis were quick to begin.  Crymelon Tactile and Miss Avonlea were slow to begin.

Trainer, Mr J Guy was issued with a warning after the greyhound Brazen King was negligently (GAR 86(o)) placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  

The Club Official concerned was spoken with after the greyhound Brazen King was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation.

Morticia was quick to begin.  Aston Estate and Six Big Boys were slow to begin.

Trash underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury.

Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Parade Steward, Mr P Carter did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event. 

Driftin' Away and High Fusion collided soon after the start, checking Driftin' Away.  Weblec Ace and High Fusion collided on the first turn, checking High Fusion.  Lektra Yoyo and Zipping Sullivan collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn, checking Zipping Sullivan.  Barefoot Barry and Lektra Yoyo collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Two Up Thommo underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Jaggered was slow to begin.

La La Nebraska crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Striking Gold, Dee Nine and Banjo Bliss.  Skibo Rebel and Simmo Gogolac collided on the first turn.  Banjo Bliss checked off the heels of Simmo Gogolac on the first turn and collided with Dee Nine and Jaggered; resulting in Banjo Bliss and Jaggered being checked, and Dee Nine being severely checked.  Skibo Rebel and La La Nebraska collided approaching the winning post.

Dee Nine underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg wrist injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

As Trainer, Mr I Robinson was indisposed Mr G George handled Pyrenees Steele in his absence.

Akoya was quick to begin.  Hatters Lane and Pyrenees Steele were slow to begin.

Corazon De Leon and Akoya collided on the first turn.  Red Taltarni raced wide approaching the home turn.  Hatters Lane raced wide on the home turn.

Solar Tiny - Late scratching at 2:09 pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left foreleg wrist injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Miss City Girl and Kraken Pennys were quick to begin.  Kid Winslow was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Proctor, trainer of Red Potion, after the greyhound became momentarily loose when its collar was removed when behind the boxes. After a short time Red Potion was then captured by Mr Proctor before being placed in its starting box.  Stewards reminded Mr Proctor of his responsibilites when handling the greyhound in future.
