Why Not Luv was slow to begin.
Magic Duo, Let's Roll, Fenway Lights, Mabel's Fire, Desiree Dancer and Bubba Jo collided soon after the start checking Mabel's Fire. Fenway Lights, Desiree Dancer and Bubba Jo collided on the first turn checking Fenway Lights. Let's Roll checked off Magic Duo on the first turn. Desiree Dancer and Bubba Jo collided on the home turn. Mabel's Fire turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Mabel's Fire underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right stopper, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Jason Stemmer, regarding the greyhounds racing manner in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Mabel's Fire was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stemmer pleaded guilty to the charge Mabel's Fire must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
