Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards altered the closing of kennelling and race day start times in accordance with GAR 31, due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays on-route to the track. Kennels closed at 3.02pm. All races were amended with race 1 to start at 3.22pm with the last race at 6.45pm.

Meehan Marlow, Curious Yaala and Lulu Osti were quick to begin.

Remember Jimmy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left fore toe injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Fran Keeping was slow to begin.

New Fire Girl galloped on Out Smart 'Em soon after the start checking Fran Keeping and severely checking New Fire Girl.  Fran Keeping galloped on New Fire Girl soon after the start severely checking both greyhounds.  Rosta Power and Maverick Bob collided on the first turn.  Out Smart 'Em and Pacific Coast collided on the first turn.  Fran Keeping faltered on the first turn.  Roasta Power and Ebonique collided on the home turn.

Mabel's Fire underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right stopper, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Jason Stemmer, regarding the greyhounds racing manner in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Mabel's Fire was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stemmer pleaded guilty to the charge Mabel's Fire must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
