Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Inky's Fireball.
Inky's Fireball and Mr. Black were slow to begin. Black Booster and Mr. Black collided soon after the start. Midnight Pompeii clipped the heels of Paisley Bale approaching the first turn checking Inky's Fireball and severely checking Midnight Pompeii. Especially Eager and Dark Pearl collided approaching the home turn. Especially Eager, Dark Pearl and Titanium Teeghan collided on the home turn severely checking Dark Pearl. Dark Pearl and Inky's Fireball collided on the home turn. Dark Pearl and Black Booker collided entering the home straight. Titanium Teeghan visibly eased and collided with Mr Black, checking Mr. Black.
Midnight Pompeii underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing to the right fore paw. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Titanium Teeghan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr. M. Hendy, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Titanium Teeghan was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge, Titanium Teeghan must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
