Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Your Queen, Rival Wiggy and Way To Important were slow to begin. Misty Arandt and Barellen Rae collided approaching the first turn. Barellen Rae and Your Queen collided on the first turn checking Your Queen. Especial Echo, Barellen Rae and Misty Arandt collided approaching the home turn severely checking Especial Echo. Barellen Rae and Rival Wiggy collided in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Inky's Fireball.

Inky's Fireball and Mr. Black were slow to begin. Black Booster and Mr. Black collided soon after the start. Midnight Pompeii clipped the heels of Paisley Bale approaching the first turn checking Inky's Fireball and severely checking Midnight Pompeii. Especially Eager and Dark Pearl collided approaching the home turn. Especially Eager, Dark Pearl and Titanium Teeghan collided on the home turn severely checking Dark Pearl. Dark Pearl and Inky's Fireball collided on the home turn. Dark Pearl and Black Booker collided entering the home straight. Titanium Teeghan visibly eased and collided with Mr Black, checking Mr. Black.

Midnight Pompeii underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing to the right fore paw. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Titanium Teeghan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr. M. Hendy, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Titanium Teeghan was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge, Titanium Teeghan must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from He's A Geezer.

Belle Curve - Late scratching at 7:15pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to A left hock injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

He's A Geezer and Zipping Kez collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Kez and American Star collided several times in the home straight.

Zipping Kez underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to kennel represenative Mr. P. Smoor regarding the greyhound Zipping Kezs' racing manners in the home straight. After observing all available footage, Stewards own observations and Mr Smoors' submissions, Stewards took no further action.

A pre-race sample was taken from Five Sisters.

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Just A Fidget with handler Mr. Joshua Formosa and noted his comments.

Huntly Star was quick to begin. Five Sisters stayed in the box and took no competitive part in the event. Just A Fidget and Dewana Chic collided on the first turn checking Just A Fidget. Goldana Bale and Dewana Chic collided approaching the second turn. Who Is Arandt and Dewana Mechanic collided on the home turn.

Five Sisters underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left ear. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Quinlan, the trainer of Five Sisters regarding its performance it this event after the greyhound stayed in the box and took no competitive part in the event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Five Sisters must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stan's Hope, Midnight Bling and Dale's Jet collided soon after the start checking Midnight Bling. Royal Solo and Dale's Jet collided on the first turn checking Dale's Jet.

A pre-race sample was taken from Another Vader.

Scott Something underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race.  

Another Vader and Railway Burra collided on the first turn..My Victoria and Zoro Bale collided approaching the second turn. Micky Rads faltered approaching the second turn and tailed off. Railway Burra and Sense collided on the home turn checking Sense.

Micky Rads underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a suspected dislocated righ hock and an injury to the right thigh. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Cavernando – Late scratching at 12.25pm when Mr. B. Veleski reported the greyhound to have an webbing injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Kranskey - Late scratching at 6:08pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an elevated temperature. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Meatball Soup.

Typhoon Tessie and Devil's Cartel collided soon after the start. Kenita clipped the heels of Typhoon Tessie in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Lektra Loopy.

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Yondu with handler Mr. Joshua Formosa and noted his comments.

Yondu, Panel, Zero To Hero, Lektra Loopy, Chasing Beers and Balance collided on the first turn checking Yondu. Balance and Rocket Strike collided approaching the second turn checking Yondu and Balance. Swashbuckler and Yondu raced wide in the home straight.

Yondu underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Strategic.

Ronnie Rocket and Olin Bale collided approaching the first turn. Hotline Sally, Ronnie Rocket and Tommy Cawbourne collided on the first turn checking Ronnie Rocket. Ronnie Rocket and Tommy Cawbourne collided approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from All Over Elly, a post race sample was subsequently taken. 

Brave Hearted went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. I'm Poppy and Librarian collided approaching the first turn checking Librarian.

Market Bob underwent a post race veterinary examination after falling in the catching pen. Market Bob sustained an abrasion to the right front paw. No stand down period was imposed.

Kraken Tan – New declared weight of 28.5kg, last raced at 29.9kg.

Rotarua, Kraken Tan, Verne Bale and Maximum Abbie collided approaching the first turn, checking Verne Bale and severely checking Kraken Tan which tailed off. Maximum Abbie and Rotarua collided on the first turn. Sir Julian and Harry's My Name collided approaching the home turn. 

Verne Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Kraken Tan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Jackie Jai.

Jackie Jai, Maggie Pie, Coco Baroque and Xeron Bale collided approaching te first  turn checking Maggie Pie. Maggie Pie and Kraken Bo collided on the first turn. Xeron Bale and Coco Baroque collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.
