Steward's Report
Snake Pit Lass, Mombasa and Sweet Impala collided approaching the first turn causing Sweet Impala, Dundee Jazz and Agent Levi to collide, checking Agent Levi. Snake Pit Lass, Mombasa, Sweet Impala and Dundee Jazz collided entering the front straight checking Sweet Impala. Snake Pit Lass faltered on the third turn and subsequently pulled up. Sweet Impala shifted out and collided with Mombasa approaching the home turn. Agent Levi turned its head and collided with Sweet Impala approaching the home turn.
Snake Pit Lass underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture and lacerations on the left fore and left hindlegs. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Sweet Impala underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the lumbo- sacral and right groin muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Joe Borg, the trainer of Sweet Impala and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.
Agent Levi underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Leslie Hughes regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Agent Levi was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hughes pleaded guilty to the charge; Agent Levi must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
