Steward's Report
Due to a technical malfunction this race was hand timed. The time was 37.46.
Eddie, Mac's A Million and Serengheti Icon collided soon after the start. Drumbeater, Eddie and Clack Canvas collided on the first turn checking Eddie. Stepping and Entwined collided on the first turn. Stepping and Stellar Rising collided approaching the home turn. Stepping visibly eased on the home turn and collided with Steller Rising. Serengheti Icon, Eddie, Entwined and Mac's A Million collided entering the home straight. Stepping marred Steller Rising in the home straight.
Stepping underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left thigh and right wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Mallia, the handler of Stepping regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1),Stepping was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge, Stepping must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
