Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Crumb Snags was slow to begin.

Taipan Jill - Late scratching at 4:15 pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37), due to swelling to the right foreleg.  A five day stand down period was imposed. 

Slingshot Yang was quick to begin.  Bush Tiger was slow to begin.

Supercross and Nova To Burn collided soon after the start.  Lily Leopard and Bush Tiger collided soon after the start.  Bush Tiger and Nova To Burn collided on the first turn, checking Bush Tiger.  Bush Tiger galloped on Lily Leopard approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Barry The Hook and Supercross collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Bush Tiger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps.  No stand down period was imposed.

Ignatious Bale was quick to begin.  Pandora's Hope was slow to begin.

Chase A Star and Maximum Sarah collided on the first turn, checking Maximum Sarah and Cookie Deeds.  Dee Nine, Maximum Sarah and Cookie Deeds collided approaching the home turn, checking all three greyhounds.  Pandora's Hope and Cookie Deeds collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.

Prime Time underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race seven.  Prime Time was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr J Talgi regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Prime Time was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Talgi pleaded guilty to the charge, Prime Time must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
